SD Governor Calls On Biden To Rescind All Mandates After He Claims ‘There Is No Federal Solution’ To Pandemic

South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem called on President Joe Biden to rescind all federal COVID-19 mandates after he said on Monday that, “There is no federal solution,” to the pandemic.

“After a year, we finally agree @potus. The federal government isn’t the solution. That’s why from the start, SD took a different approach by trusting our citizens to be responsible and make the right decisions for themselves & their families. Now rescind all the federal mandates,” Noem tweeted on Tuesday.

The post followed Biden’s comment on Monday during a virtual meeting with the nation’s governors.

Joe Biden, who ran for President on the promise of ending the COVID-19 pandemic: “There is no federal solution. This gets solved at a state level."

The South Dakota governor had previously criticized Biden over his dire comments ahead of Christmas that told unvaccinated Americans they would be “looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”

Noem argued, “America needs hope and leadership from Biden. Not fear and dire predictions.”

Severe illness and death? Really Mr. President? America needs hope and leadership from Biden. Not fear and dire predictions – America has met every challenge head on and with optimism for generations. Our country will get through this together. pic.twitter.com/wRDsukuke2

Noem is not alone in her call for an end to federal mandates. Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton also expressed a similar conclusion to Biden’s statement.

“When Joe Biden says ‘there is no federal solution,’ he’s trying to avoid blame for his incompetence,” Cotton tweeted on Monday.

“If he really believes this, he should rescind his unconstitutional federal mandates,” he added.

“There’s no federal solution, but the fed government can help by securing the border, approving safe treatments & tests, and appointing competent leaders at the FDA & CDC,” Cotton also tweeted.

“Biden opened the border, botched testing, and outsourced CDC’s guidance to the teachers’ unions,” he argued.

Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy also claimed the president “finally got something right,” sharing the contrast between Biden’s message in 2020 that he would “shut down the virus” with his more recent comments.

“There is no federal solution.” – @JoeBiden finally gets something right. Now apply that to everything else & focus on securing our border. https://t.co/bQOZsZOeOP

I have read things about her that make me think she is a squish on conservatism, but she is right on this, and she is nice on the eyes.

There’s no Federal solution to nearly all the problems America faces.

It’s definitely going to be brought up in oral arguments before SCOTUS.

It might be the sole reason the mandate gets thrown out because it can be blamed on Biden.

She's counting on that second part to get her further up the political ladder.

She had her chance and blew it when she caved on the trans nonsense.

Oh, certainly our gov will get right on it here in NevaDUH. NOT! He’s basking in the fruits of his emergency executive powers. Still on the mask kick a lot of places but he hasn’t gone the vaxport route. Yet.

The feds CREATE most of the problems we have, then wring their hands, gnash their teeth, and wail we need to spend another trillion to fix those problems.

I agree completely. I wouldn’t vote for her unless it was Kamala Harris running against her, and nowadays, I even wonder how I would vote for people who buy into that crap.

She will, no doubt, bank on the “second part” if she can.

On March 8, Noem announced on Twitter that she would sign into law H.B. 1217, the Women's Fairness in Sports Bill,[167] which bans transgender athletes from playing on or against women's school and college sports teams. Some critics of the bill say they are worried it might turn away business and cost the state money.[168] On March 19, Noem issued a style and form veto to H.B. 1217 that substantially altered the bill, not just correcting grammar and spelling mistakes.[169] She appeared on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" seeking to defend her position.[170] On March 29, the South Dakota House rejected Noem's style and form veto, 67–2.[171] After the House returned H.B. 1217 to Noem for consideration after the House rejected her veto, she vetoed H.B. 1217.[172] The House then failed to override her veto by a vote of 45-24 (2/3s or 47 votes were needed to override).[173] Numerous conservative commentators criticized Noem for vetoing the bill.[174][175]

Sounds like a cave to me.

Did she sign a fatally compromised bill that would not have withstood a State constitution challenge?

Nope.

Did she put in place regulations until new legislation could be drafted?

Yes.

Are the GOP now being a bunch of pussies not signing on to her corrected and effective bill?

Yep.

You are a LIAR.
