Ben Gurion frequently quoted the Jewish Bible to justify modern Zionism. He was far different in that regard from most Leftist secular Zionists at the time.

True enough. These days most American Jewish progs are hostile to Israel, often openly. The fact that it’s been 20 years since the last Labor PM has a lot to with it. That and the high birth rate of the orthodox, whom they despise even more than conservative Christians.
