Quebec is bringing back its controversial overnight curfew beginning Friday at 10 p.m., which is New Year's Eve, and continuing to 5 a.m the next day.
Quebec Premier Francois Legault made the announcement Thursday amid increasing hospitalizations and an exponential growth in COVID-19 cases driven by the Omicron variant.
Also, beginning on Friday, private gatherings in homes will be prohibited. Only people who live alone or need caregivers will be allowed to join another family bubble.
Dining rooms at restaurants will be closed but take-out and delivery options will be allowed to continue...

In some ways, not all, it appears we may owe Hitler a bit of
an apology.
Total population control was something he instituted, but our
governments today are so eager to do the same thing.
We discriminate by virtue of vaccination. If a person uses
their own ‘choice’, they are worthy of full blown house arrest.
The vaccines aren’t as effective as they promised. They
don’t protect others from the vaccinated, who can and do
pass it on.
Now the police rove neighborhoods and enforce the idiocy
of the elected officials. This doesn’t bother them at
all either. Why they are just doing what they were ordered
to do. Where have we heard that before?
I will not defend the police for taking action against
people who demand to be left alone to live their lives.
How many businesses have to go under? How many people have
to commit suicide? How many must lose their homes, their
credit ratings, or marriages? How many children have to be
scared to death by this nonsense?
There has been a steep rise in cases in Canada, as in most other heavily-vaccinated countries, but deaths remain low: the 7-day rolling average for the entire country is 22.
If only they spoke English, all would be well.

They need to drive vaccination.
