For some time now, J.K. Rowling has been taking a Twitter stand against transgenderism, a fantasy-based movement that erases women by giving men access to their locker rooms, swimming pools, boxing rings, racetracks, prisons, admiral ranks, and even Jeopardy. No wonder that, when a British newspaper ran an online poll looking for the “Person of the Year,” Rowling ran away with the victory. How ironic, then, that Rowling has now grovelled before the transgender mob.
I’ve written before how Rowling has long been the only high-profile figure in the English-speaking world to oppose the way in which the transgender movement (which is based upon the fiction that people are born in the “wrong” body) allows men to co-opt women’s spaces and accomplishments. Over the years, she’s spoken out for women fired for opposing the transgender movement, ridiculed those who call women “people who menstruate,” and highlighted how ridiculous it is that Scottish police will now allow male rapists to “identify” as women and be locked up in women’s prisons.
Rowling has been attacked for these stands. She’s been doxed (i.e., her home address was revealed, which is a way to encourage people to terrorize her) and the entire Harry Potter infrastructure (studio and actors) has sought to erase her. That’s how it works in Hollywood: You make tens of millions off someone’s extraordinary creative efforts but you’re always weak-minded enough to abandon that person in favor of the deranged leftist mob.
Because Rowling has really done nothing creatively exciting in the past couple of years, the most interesting and newsworthy thing about her in 2021 has been her willingness to stand up to the transgender mob.

Never go along with the insanity of the insane.
And just how did she cave? I don’t see that explained. What I have read is that she was leading contender for the canceled Person of the Year, nothing more.
But that didn’t stop the public from taking to social media to share their suspicions.
“JK Rowling was voted Guardian’s person of the year. Rather than acknowledge this, Guardian killed the competition. What utter cowardice, Guardian,” said one tweet that received nearly 3000 “likes.” Another, which more than 7000 people approved, read, “BREAKING: Guardian deactivated the poll on ‘Person of the Year 2021’ because JK Rowling was in the lead. Pathetic!”
[snipped]
It seems the Guardian’s politically awkward popularity contest isn’t going to be easily forgotten. When the outlet posted the question, “What’s the funniest thing you saw on the internet in 2021,” to Twitter, numerous people responded in the same vein as one user who replied, “The Guardian closing its Person of the year award because JK Rowling got so many votes — that was totalitarian levels of funny.”
She did not cave. My God.
You didn’t read the whole article.
She acknowledged 57 ice cream flavors… sorry… genders.
But that’s not really a capitulation of her stance as she still says biological sez is paramount and that’s the crux of the issue
She should have made their heads explode:
“There are two biological sexes, both genetically determined.
There are an infinite variety of mental illnesses.”
I think it’s most funny that she won the poll so handily. I guess the wackjob pervos on social media aren’t all that powerful after all. It must be saddening for the Guardian to push leftwing insanity so heavily and see that it achieved nothing.
My heart bleeds. Drip. Drip.
Small but important point: I’ve never said there are only two genders. There are innumerable gender identities. 1/3 https://t.co/szCHOwoP4i

The question at the heart of this debate is whether sex or gender identity should form the basis of decisions on safeguarding, provision of services, sporting categories and other areas where women and girls currently have legal rights and protections. 2/3

Using the words ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ interchangeably obscures the central issue of this debate.
If you’re interested in what I actually said, see https://t.co/zRoACFakEn (in which I literally say ‘trans lives matter’ and ‘trans rights are human rights.’)

She has already sold a gazillion Harry Potter books and has made billions off the movies and merchandise made from them.
I guess Rowling didn’t want accolades from the hoi poli.
I have NEVER read a Harry Potter book nor seen a Harry Potter film.
From what I gathered by indirect exposure, there is a lot of supernatural stuff which is not based on Divinity.
Evidently she is a very worldly person who needed time to accept this specific perversion into her worldly view.
Her opinion is not the officially approved conservative opinion, but it is better than the loony left progressive opinion.
The Boy Scouts won every court case brought up against them by the left. They were winning their position of keeping the homosexuals out and then, inexplicably, they suddenly announced a 'change' in policy which let in homosexuals and now transfreaks as well.
Chic-filet is another. Dan Cathy/Cathy family were constantly criticized for their 'marriage' position and for their charitable contributions. Their sales were soaring and the American public stood behind them when the left got vicious and started picketing stores and causing problems. Then, again inexplicably, there was a 'change' in their policy, beginning with giving to 'leftist' causes.
Look at the various stars and athletes who have stated strong moral positions through the years only to reverse course and apologize or tell everyone that what they said was not what they meant.
It's confounding to say the least.
Rowling just said “women menstruate” and did’t use the all inclusive People menstruate. That’s what they tore her up over. She is still a far leftist who loves the transgenders, believes in hundreds of genders , promotes gay love, etc. I don’t know why the Right is fawning all over her, she is a progressive leftist.
I’ve noticed the same thing. And it is all the more a let-down for those of us who applauded and supported them when they were under attack. That’s why I don’t rush to laud someone who appears to be bravely standing on principle. It’s always possible (even probable) for even the greatest hero to fall. As the Bible says, “Call no man happy until he is dead.”
Sorry, it wasn’t in the Bible that the “Call no man happy” quote came from; it came from Solon or Herodotus.
Exactly and well stated.
