He must have seen all the rent signs in Chelsea
I am telling you, he was a cop and has no idea of how to be a mayor. He has only had terrible examples in the RAT party. Now that he has to worry about elections, he will do as he is told or be tossed into the trash heap by the RAT party.
I work in SF—or rather, I used to work in SF. Been at home for 2 years now.
I’ll return to SF when they get rid of their mask mandate, get rid of the homeless riding BART, and when they also clean up the homeless encampment right next to my building. In other words—when hell freezes over!
It’s too bad though—I miss seeing my coworkers in person; once a week or once a month would be nice.
I never understood when an electorate of retards keep electing the same lib retards over and over again how they expect things to miraculously get better when the only change is skin color.
This guy has no clue what he is doing.

The purpose of the business is to make the business prosper, not to make the city prosper. The city prospering is a by product of the business(es) prospering. The cities main job is to keep the place safe for the businesses to operate and to not force them out by over-regulation and taxes. All large cities will be doomed if they are not safe.
“Despite the troubling and ever-increasing number of COVID-19 cases in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams is urging corporations and financial institutions to end their reliance on telecommuting and bring their employees back to work. “
and unlike the OLD bosses who offered only a single free drink if they came back, the NEW boss is offering TWO free drinks!
“This guy has no clue what he is doing.”
give him time ... as soon as he figures out how to work the levers of power, he’ll be just as despotic as de blasio ...
It’s real simple, COVID taught us that people need no longer to live concentrated in cities. Thank you zoom and Amazon. Cities are dying. Dump NYC in the mass grave next to Detroit. More to follow. All dem shitholes.
Smart former-NYC businesses have opened branch offices in Florida and Texas, and have re-assigned their remote people there.
A city has to economically justify its existence.
Most modern blue-state cities are custodians of voter and electoral fraud, through which state and federal subsidies are hijacked into the coffers of the city
No one needs a city to do capitalism any longer
There would only be one way to save NYC: make it a good place for working class and middle class people to live, by making the welfare class go elsewhere.
Slow motion death throes...
Politicians never wake up until its too late.
‘Mon back our criminals are hurting for work
The new Manhattan DA is another low-IQ affirmative-action hire who has decided that they won’t incarcerate those arrested for most crimes.
A criminal does not commit a crime but is a human crime wave and will immediately resume committing more crimes including murder (as well as rape, assault, attempted murder, etc.) when not incarcerated. Because the criminal hasn’t been arrested for murder doesn’t mean that he has not committed murder or will not commit murder.
...urging corporations and financial institutions to end their reliance on telecommuting and bring their employees back to work.
Defund the Police Demagogic Party a-holes love irony.
There was an energy - more specifically edginess - to the City - there really was truth to the "if I can make it there.." line in "New York, New York." A good bit of that edge WAS in the office, or whatever was your trade (clubs, art galleries, apparel etc.) I was mentally challenged to innovate, I worked amongst the best and brightest, and as a classical liberal I felt compelled to keep learning. It was a great place for ALL of that.
Even the radicals, at times, had points that resonated. The hard left public radio station, WBAI, had a few guests (Gary Null in particular) that were so provocative that when you scratched, some (and certainly not all) of their rantings made you do some investigation. Be warned - you had to endure a LOT of twaddle, and that's not for everyone (but when you're in gridlock on the FDR, it's a way to pass the time).
IMHO, when Bloomberg imposed his no smoking mandates on private property owners, that's when the character of the City changed. Demonizing for political gains - nothing new to Manhattan - became weaponized. De Blasio came in, and that weaponization became more caustic.
Each time I've returned to NYC, it was still energetic, but it had a faded glory dimension to it. I haven't been back since the pandemic started - Mr Adams (our guy, not the useless new Mayor) can add some first hand input if he wishes.
I wrote elsewhere that I believe NYC, while it'll always be relevant, is fading but not for the reasons many people cite. I believe Manhattan's fading is because, with every other City offering an edginess to it, Manhattan isn't special anymore. The exporting of leftism across America helped water down Manhattan's leftism and associated edginess. Similarly, the rise of NeverTrumpers in Manhattan wrecked their edginess, and that export has also had repercussions.
I think the telecommuting has hastened the loss of edginess. And I do not think that Manhattan genie can be put back in the bottle. Maybe other Cities will benefit, and again I don't think NYC will meet a Detroit-like state.
But only God can save Gotham, and He seems focused elsewhere.
Yeah...I could see that happening. Detroit is finally on the up but it’s taken decades and still has a long way to go. NYC is on a whole other level though.
Good post. I’ve actually never been to New York City but I’m a Woody Allen fan and he made the city look beautiful and appealing in all his movies.
I worked in San Francisco for 25 years starting in 1994 and I missed its glory days as well.
I think Boston has surpassed NYC in many ways.

Chelsea Clinton is for rent? I thought she was married!
