Then . . . natural gas flowed into Ukraine from the WEST because there was no further way to steal flow from GAZPROM. Those western sources (Poland et al) have the sort of pressure on him that GAZPROM will have on Germany when Nordstream II flows.
The real secret that never gets talked about — Ukraine has no oil. No natural gas. But it DOES have coal. And it’s all in the Donbas.
In fact, they have enormous amounts of gas but everybody who tried to invest into development was robbed by the government. It is also much simpler to just steal the Russian gas.
