“The general consensus among historians is more like 12K-15K killed. Of those, 70% were women. Mostly widows, elderly, poor.”

Well, they shouldn’t have built gingerbread houses just so they could attract and then eat children.

That’s a fact. They are vicious, vile creatures who can not stand someone being happy. Full of jealousy, they will work overtime to find something, anything to destroy another woman they are jealous of.

A psychotherapist has claimed the trauma suffered by ancestors in the European witch hunts has harmed today's generation of women.
IOW, she's a demagogue, as well as being stupid and delusional.

Like women back at the time of witch trials, women today need to avoid the Toxoplasma Gondii in cat stool because it makes them crazier than usual.

You've outlined it reasonably well, but missed another part of the reason.

Women are more likely to select jobs that fit their schedule, have benefits other than pay. shorter commute times and the like.

In general, women will trade higher pay for these types of perks and men will trade these type of perks for higher pay.

My daughter has a college degree and could drive an hour or so each way to get higher pay than she currently makes at a grocery chain picking orders where she can drive 10 minutes, work hours of her choice and not have to hire a baby sitter.

Is the job ideal? Of course not. But it is a calculated choice that she makes.

During the Early Modern era - 1450 to 1750 - tens of thousands of women were executed as ‘witches’ across the continent.

So, a genetically insignificant number.

Women are far less likely to relocate for a job, then men. Maybe, immediately after they graduate college. Men may not locate if they have children in high school, but in general are much more likely to be open to relocation. But if they can’t relocate, they can be open to 80% - 100% travel. Fewer women are open to that much travel, and more women are open to no travel, than men.
