The left will say these protests are unsanctioned to justify the police terrorizing and beating people, hitting elderly men, etc, but what kind of democracy do you have if you have to get permission to protest?
Secondly, the left will say these are superspreader events throughout Europe, but somehow BLM protests weren’t superspreader events.
Third, the left never asks about whether or not it is approved police policy when elderly men at protests over vax mandates get hit over the head with batons.
Well, here in the US you have to get a permit to protest.
Unless of course if you are going to Mostly Peacefully Protest.

That was Hungary in 1956. Prague Spring was 1968. Also, as I remember it, it was Czechoslovokia which first opened their border to the West (Austria) in 1989 (I think). Once this happened, then nothing was going to stop Communism in Eastern Europe from collapsing.
Likely the government there had two choices, gun down their people demanding freedom or let it go...and they chose right.
