Psaki Claims Biden Was Not Making ‘Human’ Comparison Between Racists and Opponents to Dem Voting Bills
National Review ^ | January 15, 2022 | By BRITTANY BERNSTEIN

White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday claimed President Biden was not comparing opponents of Democrats’ voting bill to racists and segregationists as “humans,” explaining that he was just comparing their “choice” to oppose the legislation during his speech in Atlanta earlier this week.

“So I ask every elected official in America, how do you want to be remembered?” Biden said during his speech advocating a suspension of filibuster rules to pass voting legislation. “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

Psaki said Friday: “I think everybody listening to that speech who’s speaking on the level, as my mother would say, would note that he was not comparing them as humans; he was comparing the choice to those figures in history and where they’re going to position themselves as they determine whether they’re going to support the fundamental right to vote or not.”

Psaki dismissed Republican criticism of the speech earlier in the week, saying “claims about the offensive nature of the speech” are “hilarious on many levels given how many people sat silently over the last four years for the former president.”

There is so much Bull(blank) in these arguments. I will just pick this one, as this (fill in the blank) lying her (blank) off. Nobody opposes the fundamental right to vote. The implication that opposing these proposed bills means that you oppose the right to vote is fundamentally false. But she gets away with this (fill in the blank).

Psaki is a good little prevaricator.

2 out of 3 of those “good” comparisons were Republicans.

Smooth move, Joey.

BTW, voting is a privilege, not a fundamental right.

“Psaki is a good little prevaricator.”

The bimbo gives a bad name to “prevaricators”. When she speaks, a prevaricate-O-meter needle would spin around so fast it’d fly off.

I am hammering o. This point yet again.

Democrats are one big non-sequitur. Always setting up strawmen. Problems that DO NOT EXIST. Yet they control all the narratives and no one even questions that fundamental part.

From this with its focus on “voting rights” (there is ZERO denial of voting rights), to COVID (its the worst disease ever! OMG bodies in the streets!), to “climate change” (why is a slight rise in temperature so awful?), to BLM whining (ZERO proof of real brutality against blacks by police or any problem with “white supremacy), Dems make the premise and no one questions that. They make us fight about the details rather than telling them it is totally false.

So, they’re just acting racist.

Kind of like acting white, I guess.

Several Constitutional amendments construe voting as a right, specifically, starting with the Fifteenth Amendment.

As long as qualifications attend to the practice it is a privilege, not a fundamental right. As of now there are age and residence qualifications. It is time for our constitutions to require more, like a basic civics test. We don’t let people drive without driving tests.

You are correct. It is not like speech or freedom from search. It comes with requirements, such as registering, thus it is a privilege.

Look up “the 10 stages of genocide”; this is stage IV, dehumanization, and shading into stages V and VI, organization and polarization.

Wikipedia actually does a good job describing the stages.
