Billionaire investor Chamath Palihapitiya is under fire for saying that he - and most Americans - "don't care" about abuses against the Uyghur minority in China.
Mr Palihapitiya, a part-owner of San Francisco's basketball team, made the comments during a podcast discussion of whether President Joe Biden's action on the issue had helped him politically.
The remarks drew social media backlash.
Mr Palihapitiya later admitted that his comments "lacked empathy".

I’m reminded of that old quote: “In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
It’s not like the guy is telling some sort of outrageous lie. “Uyghur Genocide” elicits pretty much the same, collective yawn from most people in the western world as terms such as “Armenian Genocide”, “Occupied Northern Cyprus”, or “Holodomor” do.
That’s assuming those terms even make it past the: “huh?” reaction from even more folks.
Most American don’t care what China is doing or they wouldn’t keep buying so much from there and letting them buy up our businesses and farmland.

The attitude of this billionaire to the plight of ordinary people exemplifies that of the entirety of the those who would be our global masters. Satraps of a heartless global technocracy; overlords the helpless masses.
We have plenty of problems here in the ‘good old USA’ without worrying about people 10000 miles away.

This may be interesting. He must have a pile of f*** y** money about a mile high, so I’m not sure I expect to see him humbled on this. A mere mortal whose finances could be pressured would be groveling. But this guy can afford to take a pass.

He is an India-born wog , immigrant to CANADA , and vastly more wealthy than he ever should have been able to become. He is in no way an American, in any way, shape, or heritage.

Fact: the Uyughur’s are Muslim Islamists. Yes, they are persecuted by China. Somewhat like they do Christians.
Turkey imported many of them into the Middle East. Implanted them into conquered Kurdish areas in Syria. Trying to erase any trace of Kurds.
