My solution is simple, and while we wait for the legislation to pass, we can act now: The rich should give their children to the poor, and the poor should give their children to the rich. Homeowners might swap children with their homeless neighbors.
Now, I recognize that some naysayers, hopelessly attached to their privilege, will dismiss such a policy as ghastly, even totalitarian. But my proposal is quite modest, a fusion of traditional philosophy and today’s most common political obsessions.

Swift wrote that book in response to the overly punitive Irish laws, which were unjust on their face. What’s this clown’s excuse?
One of the more disturbing scenes in the movie “The Killing Fields” was when (about a quarter into the movie) in a Khmer Rouge reeducation camp, a child was asked to go up to a chalkboard that had a drawing of a family holding hands on it and erase the hands.
This last little while with these clowns blaming parents and families for the lack of equity in society makes me think of that scene.

Indeed. It’s an age where the most obscene, bizarre article competes for clicks. Perhaps someone should write an article with a “modest proposal” that in light of the supply chain crisis and the shortage of meat in the supermarkets, we should fatten up all the worthless journalists and package them up as roasts. (Just kidding. Their meat would likely be gamey.)
