Of course the hundreds of thousands of new untrained and uninsured drivers from South America doesn’t add to the problem.

I read an article that correlated traffic fatalities and the Ferguson effect. When people know the police won’t stop them they (surprise surprise) are more likely to run red lights.

This is like already deciding that the 2022 midterms are illegitimate.
After 55 MPH was repealed, speeds went up, but deaths continued down. I’d like to see the fatality rates in states (e.g. California, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, etc.) that have legalized recreational marijuana. Maybe it didn’t make a difference, but it would be interesting to see.
