Your despair is entirely understandable, and could be very well grounded. I’m from Oregon which gives me some understanding of BC (I hate Portland, and imagine that if I were from B.C. I’d have the same feelings for Vancouver)—more than your average Ontarian, I’d think. B.C. is diverse enough, and there are enough splits to allow a sensible plurality to prevail from time to time
Hopefully Winnipeg will cave soon. Alberta and Saskatchewan aren’t quite enough to start an effective stampede.
Yes, the government is starting to concede that there really is nothing to stop Omicron from spreading and since there are not enough test kits, are telling people to just assume they have COVID and do what they need to stay safe.
We had a couple from Portland move here to my home town in BC to live and join our bible study. They were the typical nutwings from Portland. But they had to go back because BC is too expensive to live.
Federal worker mandate is currently blocked by an injunction. Not sure how the Supreme Court would rule after they screwed the CMS ruling.
