Alberta (Canada) Could Lift Vaccine Passport in ‘Days’, Denies Negotiating With Trucker Blockade

OTTAWA, ON - JANUARY 30: A woman poses for a portrait showing off her biker helmet with the words,

Alberta’s ruling United Conservative Party has denied that members have been negotiating with an anti-coronavirus restriction trucker border blockade, but nevertheless noted that vaccine passports could end in the province within days.

United Conservative Party (UCP) caucus chair Nathan Neudorf dismissed claims that rural UCP members of the Alberta legislative assembly (MLAs) had negotiated a deal with the trucker blockade at the border town of Coutts to end the coronavirus restrictions in the province in exchange for opening the border.

“Reports have surfaced that the United Conservative rural caucus has negotiated an agreement to temporarily end the Coutts blockade pending the outcome of a rural caucus meeting to discuss the immediate lifting of the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP),” Neudorf said in a statement Wednesday.

“No such agreement has been authorized and the meeting is not to discuss lifting the REP. As the Premier has stated, Alberta will begin lifting restrictions very soon, likely within days, starting with the REP,” Neudorf added, broadcaster CBC reports.

This is from two weeks ago, and I’d bet Kenney’s numbers are only getting worse:

https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/alberta-ndp-continues-to-lead-ucp-in-voter-support-angus-reid-poll-1.5748115
(what is below is an excerpt)

The Alberta NDP led by Rachel Notley continues to lead the ruling UCP led by Premier Jason Kenney in popularity among voters, according to polling data released Thursday by Angus Reid.

The poll suggests roughly two-in-five Albertans, or 42 per cent, would vote for the NDP compared to roughly three-in-10, or 31 per cent for the UCP.

The Wildrose Independence Party has 16 per cent support, followed by the Alberta Party at eight per cent and the Liberals at one per cent.

The NDP have led the UCP in terms of voter intention since March 2021, according to the Angus Reid poll done every three months, and the gap has remained somewhat steady since June 2021.

The next provincial election is scheduled for 2023.

“It’s not so much to me a matter of when (the UCP) has to turn things around, it’s how they can possibly do that?” said Mount Royal University political scientist Lori Williams.

The communists in Poland never acknowledged that Solidarity won.
The communists in East Germany never acknowledged that Freedom won.

The government could blow up a bridge and thereby stop this. Surprised it hasn’t been thought of.

In the future bridges could be collapsable and reinstalled to deal with these contingencies. Difficult to keep a secret though.

The only mandate that has not been struck down by Scotus is the federal mandate on federal workers. The OSHA rule is dead, they have already said this much.

“The Wildrose Independence Party has 16 per cent support,”

I’m from BC, via SK and a long-time avowed western separatist. The western separatist movement from Kanada is more ACTIVE than say, a Texas separatist movement. It’s been around for decades. Books have been written about it, and there was a rumor the RCMP flags the borrower’s name IF you borrow from the library. Wildrose is fairly new (created 2020) in the political scene and for them to gain more than 15% in AB is something else.

Well, that would be a step in the right direction. Go for it, Alberta.

anti-coronavirus restriction trucker border blockade

Or as most freedom-loving people prefer to call it, pro-FREEDOM trucker border blockade.

Quebec? Maritimes?

I’m far enough North in Ontario that I have a skewed idea of what is going on (likely majority support for the convoy locally, esp. judging by the local papers), and some hope that after the west caves, Ontario will fall into line.

I’m also less than an hour for Quebec. There is hopeless.

Saskatchewan, Albert, probably the Maritimes (quietly). Once Winnipeg and Victoria fold, Ontario will fall in line.

Just need about a week of empty shelves in the GTA.

Denies negotiating? They should have responded, “We going to throw them a big party.”
