It’s hard to find people who dare to stand up and tell the truth ALL the time.
Honest men can be extorted if the fear is great enough - if their family is threatened.
Courageous men can be tricked into compromise - if they are convinced they can serve the cause better by remaining in power rather than rotting in some prison.
President Trump is about the gutsiest man I’ve ever seen - it shouldn’t be a surprise to see that the people around him don’t measure up.
As President Trump ups the anti, his followers’ loyalty is put to tougher and tougher tests - even the good ones may fail at some point.
An example is Tucker Carlson - he seems to have the guts to say almost anything - but babe you heard him utter the words “stolen election”? I haven’t.
Carlson figures he’s doing good where he is - getting the truth out to a lot of people. He knows the election was stolen but he has been told he will lose his platform if he crosses that line - like Lou Dobbs did.
So he makes a calculation to keep his job. Does that mean he is weak?
Not in my opinion - it makes him human.
But it does mean he’s weaker than President Trump.
President Trump faced that same choice a hundred times - tell the truth and risk losing everything - and he told the truth anyway.
There aren’t many men who can measure up to that - so we should keep that in mind when we see how often the people around him buckle under.
And I completely disagree.
