If you invite the homeless into your house, you must be prepared to stay at home 24/7, or else take the homeless people with you wherever you go. That means work, shopping, going to a movie, restaurant, doctor, etc. Do you want to go to a concert? Then be sure to buy tickets for your guests. Vacation? Bring them all with you.
Will you be allowed to screen your new guests? I seriously doubt it. That would be racist, or some other “ist”.
Utter INSANITY!!
I wonder why?
BTW - this is effectively a violation of the 3rd amendment.
But what else is new…
Not even if I had an empty garden shed in the back yard with a hose.
Do they have any idea just what a liability they are suggesting? For the home owners and their family, for their neighbors? Unless you’ve dealt with these people, and I’m not saying there aren’t some that you could help in this matter, then you have no real idea just how dangerous this idiotic idea is. This isn’t 9-11 when people took stranded passengers into their homes until flights resumed, this is dangerous, pure and simple.
I bet 99% of Americans have never really interacted with the homeless in any meaningful way other than to walk by then or slip them some money to make themselves feel charitable for the day.
Drug dealers would be ecstatic if this happens, to think of the access to valuables the local pawn shops will give cash for no questions asked to finance their products.
Idiots.
momma always told me " don't feed strays or you'll own them"
> Don’t put it past them to pass such a law. <
You’re right. And it will be called something pleasant, something like “The Be Nice to Your Neighbor Act”. But it will seize any empty rooms you might have - for the greater good, of course.
Kind of like how eminent domain works.
Nancy Pelosi has plenty of room in her mansion.

There were a ton of people living in Zhivago’s home, wasn’t there?
Oregon has a “home share” program which encourages people with an “extra room” to take in someone that needs a place to stay. I assume the gubment was/is subsidizing it. They pimped it pretty hard in TV commercials. At the same time, they had an eviction moratorium in place. Brazen.
Local politicians should lead the way by enforcing a survey of their personal residences to see how many unused rooms they have. Then, homeless crack addicts should be mandated to be placed therein...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Make it mandate!
Yup
There are an estimated 46,000 vacant homes in the Bay Area, but why?

Just move the so called homeless into those vacant homes and provide them with basic food and the drugs of their choice.
The govt caused this, they can open their offices and work from home.
I thought of the same thing.
While I think the concept is abhorrent, this is what those people voted for.
