Three top commanders of a US Navy Construction Battalion (SeaBee) unit were dismissed last week due to “a loss of confidence in their abilities” following an investigation.
The triad of officials overseeing Amphibious Construction Battalion 2 — commanding officer Capt. Jeffrey Lengkeek, executive office Cmdr. Michael Jarosz, and command master Chief Matthew Turner — were fired Friday, with the service citing a “loss of confidence in their abilities to effectively perform their leadership roles” in a press release.
Lt. Cmdr. Paul Newell, a spokesman for Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, told Navy Times that the three men’s ouster followed “a formal command investigation.”
“While the investigation remains open, we do not intend to take further disciplinary action against the triad members at this time,” Newell said.

He’s just lookin’ for a party crowd...
slammin’ em back and laughing out loud...
that is not this story...that is from 2018
Triad refers to their position as a group of three commanding the Seabees.
This and other articles referenced other such disciplinary actions that may give hint as to why. The one “running naked through the jungle” was probably the authors’ favorite.
Wow. I was an Ensign in the Seabees in San Diego and Lcdr Lengkeek was in the wardroom. Sucks for him.
After reading the Stars and Stripes article the XO was drunk and stupid. The Skipper and CMC were just stupid.

well yeah, probably playing CCR, gotta have a soundtrack.
;>)
Methinks that’s just what the Navy calls the command element’s leaders: the CO, the XO and the Sr NCO of the unit.
These are people with different names than the story in this posting.
A commander with pilot wings and an air medal.
I didn’t say it was the same event, just an example of how the hard partying Navy guys can get in trouble.
Probably didn’t meet diversity quotas.
Lt. Cmdr. Jason M. Gabbard, the unit’s XO, was relieved after being discovered in the woods wearing only his boots following a command gathering for chiefs and officers, Navy officials said.
The others tried to cover it up.
Not the first time.
Does this require the Churchill quote regarding the Royal Navy?
Whoops, you're right. Sorry.
Yeah, the dipsh*ts at the New York Post seemingly googled "Commander Matthew Turner" and came up with this photo of an unfortunately similar named Naval officer.
Most certainly not COMMAND Master Chief Matthew Turner.
Hope this individual sues someone at the Post for this f**kup.
In the Navy, it's not at all unusual. Usually has to do with bad command environment, too many DUIs, drug issues, sexual assaults, or something of a command-wide nature.
In this case, and without knowing any facts other than presented here, I'd guess the XO screwed up and the CO and CMC tried to sweep it under the rug only to have someone lower in the command leak it out to higher-ups.
Failed to get vaccinated, failed to get rid of white supremacists, failed to be woke, failed to follow through on transgender surgery, failed to vote liberal, failed to comply with the disgusting woke liberal superiors?
Probably used the wrong pronouns.
Here's a clue for you reporters: Rank is a pay grade for Navy Officers. Rate is the Pay Grade for enlisted. Rating for Enlisted designates their specialty as does MOS for other branches. Burn that into your clueless heads. Bet you will still confuse Enlisted Rate and Rating.
