Melting glaciers, fast-disappering gauge of climate change

Acrack widens in the San Rafael glacier in Chile's extreme south, and a ten-storey iceberg crashes into the lake by the same name -- a dramatic reminder of the impacts of global warming.

In the lake San Rafael, about 100 icebergs float today, pieces broken off from the glacier that 150 years ago stretched out over two-thirds of the body of water now free of ice cover.

The San Rafael glacier is one of 39 in the Northern Patagonian Ice Field (3,500 square kilometers or 1,350 square miles), which with the Southern Patagonian Ice Field (11,000 km2) in Chile's Aysen region forms one of the world's biggest ice masses.

According to the European Space Agency satellite images show San Rafael to be one of the world's most actively calving glaciers and the fastest-moving in Patagonia, "flowing" at a speed of about 7.6 kilometers (4.7 miles) per year -- "receding dramatically under the influence of global warming.".......

All but two of Chile's 26,000 glaciers are shrinking, he said, due to rising temperatures caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions......

"Areas are being flooded these days that were never flooded before," said O'Kuinghttons.

Typical lies, all areas have been flooded at one time. Also chances are they are finding evidence of previous non-glacier, such as tree stumps, but no mention of that.

I predict the US will be bankrupt before any of Obama’s estates are flooded.

Or the Detroit Lions will win a Super Bowl.

Back in 2007, i visited the Exit Glacier in Alaska. It is a National Park and has a nice visitor center that is a short walk over to the toe of the glacier.

As you approach the visitor canter, two miles out there is a sign 1896 and other years marked as you get progressively closer.

That is, the National Park service has been tracking the glacier retreat for more than a hundred years. The US Government has been measuring the effects of warming for a very very long time.

There were no SUV’s in 1896

"...due to rising temperatures caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions......"

Nope. The Modern Warm Period isn't any more manmade than the Medieval Warm Period was (when temps and sea levels were higher than today) or the Roman Warm Period (higher than that) or Minoan Warm Period (at least as high as the Roman Warm Period).

This is literally the 4th centuries-long warm period since the time of Moses, but this time it's "manmade"? What a laugh!!

The Biden administration is imploding, inflation is soaring, the southern border is wide open, and new foreign wars loom.

It’s time to crank up the “ climate change “ distraction yet again.

The Park Service removed this sign from Glacier National Park because it didn't come true:

This crap ruined my Alaska Cruise a few years ago. Nonstop about Global Warming, receding glaciers yadda yadda yadda.

Gee do you think when the glaciers were actually advancing that people weren’t freaking about that too? We’re still coming out of the last ice age for crying out loud.

Well, there’s always 1991 when we beat the Cowboys in the playoffs.

(Only playoff win since 1957)

A few years ago, the Discovery Channel removed one episode of Dirty Jobs from its archives.

This was about the growing Hubbard Glacier in Alaska.

The point of that episode was that Hubbard Glacier was growing and threatening to close off Russel Fjord and flood a village.

Best guess that this episode did meet the "climate change" narrative.

To date, that glacier and another are still growing.

So in the 70s we were going into an ice age. I think we are still coming out of an ice age and some things are warming up.

"...due to rising temperatures caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions".

There ZERO scientific evidence to support this claim of cause!!

Climate change nuts completely disregard data which is more than 50 or 60 years old, because it usually doesn’t fit their narrative. They can’t claim that man caused these events when the same events happened hundreds of years before cars and factories.

They also neglect to realize that this planet was once hot overall, and only cooled due to an ice age (thanks, asteroid!); something else that was panicked over at some point - another ice age.

People are so gullible.
