The singer looks like a young Dick Morris.

With any luck, Vlad will be so pissed at Biden, he’ll do Americans a huge favor and nuke DC - hopefully during Dementia Joe’s SOTU speech.

The next govt of Ukraine will be a cabal of generals.

May very be the case in Russia, too. And that may not be a bad thing.

If the average Ukrainian was unaware of the switch, what would change in their daily life?

We don't have to guess or theorize. What happened in Crimea over the last 8 years? A large number of ethnic Ukrainians have left. At least 250,000 of the hated Russians have moved there. Small business has suffered with the loss of tourism. Similarly, the Russian-controlled regions in the Donbas have suffered economically, and the other regions have turned against Russia markedly.

Putin seems unlikely to win the Hearts and Minds of Ukrainians by attacking them.

They seem to want to be associated with You-Rope rather than the Kremlin.

Why the average Rooskie doesn’t feel the same is curious to me.

Some people only think in TV episode/minseries or movie time frames.

How would we like to be governed by the thoroughly modern Milley?

Would he and his ilk be better than BiXiden?

True, but a key concern for Putin is Russian public opinion.

He doesn’t really care about the kind of sanctions the West has imposed so far.

But he does care about Russian public opinion, and the Putin government spends a lot of time monitoring and shaping the media and social media and messaging to the Russian people.

A longer time frame with casualties begins to cause a problem for Putin with respect to his messaging to the Russian people, which is that all this is about liberating the Ukrainians (who are one people with Russians and not a separate country) from a small group of Nazis on the US payroll.

Most do. But they have been indoctrinated for 80 years into complete submission to government..............

Stuff that happens in Chechnya can be hidden away, nobody really cares about that part of the world, as cold as it is to say.

But this is Europe, optics matter.

“Urban warfare is a nasty thing, the more so when the enemy citizens have been given RPGs and machine guns.”

Yes, Russian scalps will be in high demand during any occupation of Kiev. And the wails of Russian mothers will be hard to silence.

Russians install their preferred government in Ukraine, and it begins Monday morning. If the average Ukrainian was unaware of the switch, what would change in their daily life?

Waking up, and finding yourself living in a police state. 1,700 anti-war protesters in Russia were arrested and may be charged with treason.

"No one ever addresses it, but how would life change for the average Ukrainian? Their current government is corrupt, so it gets replaced with a new corrupt government, so what?" Careful, when you enter/post realities, that will upset a lot people living their lives and dreams based on theories and myths not reality!
