Species have been evolving and going extinct since the beginning of time. To try to alter this flow of evolution is the aberrant thing. We should recognize this and keep our hands and the government out of the process!

Why not encourage non endangered animals to identify as a endangered animal.
That will increase their numbers
Problem solved.

It gets worse. The Lacey act, a 120 yr old species protection act, is set to be amended by Congress. The House passed Sen. Rubio’s (FL) bill to turn another body of law on its head. Up until now, animals have been banned because they were considered destructive or were themselves near extinction.
With this new law all animals will be black listed except for a narrow group of species. This includes all animals except dogs, cats, and farm animals. The axolotl which no longer exists in the wild but is maintained as a pet in substantial numbers is not likely to make the cut. The same is true of 99% of the 20,000 animals kept as pets in the US. Importation and crossing state lines will be outlawed for any animal not on the “White List.”
The ostensible reason for this draconian measure is to control invasive species. Fewer than 100 of all species have presented a serious problem anywhere in the US. This will outlaw anything that can survive anywhere in the US or its territories. Nothing fails that test.
Just one more example of government finding a solution to a problem that does not exist and destroying as much as possible in its wake.
If this is passed millions of jobs will be lost, thousands of species of animals will no longer have the protection of private ownership, countless special biotopes around the world will no longer have the protection of economic viability, and the government will have a new source of income and criminalization.
Fines and penalties for a single violation are $25,000 and 5 years in federal prison. Loss of employment, loss of home, and a criminal record will be the fallout for people caring for animals.

If the Barred owl and Spotted owl are inbreeding and producing offspring that can also reproduce themselves that means they are actually the same species. Otherwise the offspring would be sterile, like the mule.

Every time a boat ramp, bridge or counter erosion project is proposed in the Connecticut River valley, the enviro-whackos bring in their divers.

Every time the divers find the same "endangered" snail and they try to stop the project.

If the snail is so endangered, why is it everywhere you look in the river banks?

You are being too logical, remember, this is the Federal Government we are talking about.
