It’s pretty obvious what Putin is doing. He most definitely is not throwing his full military punch. Putin has shown what the military reality is and is going to use that at the negotiating table. This can be negotiated if the NATO crazy talk ends and the GD American Democrat Party stops destabilizing the area for power and profit. If the negotiations fail, you will then see the Russian Army unleashed.

Stick to principle, condemn Ukrainian state-support for Nazi battalions while also condemning Putin’s invasion. Just like we’d condemn ISIS ...or the Chec’s Putin’s using.

The pursuit of truth matters, else before we know it we will no longer be able to recognise anything.

[A mad man is most dangerous when he’s cornered.]

Putin is not a madman and he’s not cornered. Kim Il-sung invaded South Korea in 1950. The invasion destroyed his army and required Chinese intervention to fight the US to a draw. He lived to a ripe old age, killing any internal rivals who got in his way. And Kim was a Russian puppet selected for his subservience, not his ability.

No one handed Putin his job. He clawed his way to power. He knows a thing or two about how to appoint men he can trust with his life to key positions and keep them from conspiring against him individually or in collusion with each other. If he loses and withdraws from Ukraine, he will likely continue to rule Russia until the end of his natural life just like his North Korean counterpart.

Very likely he wears a bullet proof vest at all times and carries a pistol.

What an awful and telling photo of Putin.

Gives the impression that he is weak and isolated. He may not be, but that’s the sort of photo I would expect of Biden.

Most of Russias troops are 18 year old draftees who have zero motivation to fight.

It's always been my understanding that the Russians have a lot of weapons, but not so much in the way of money for maintenance and training. Most of what they bring in through petroleum revenue probably goes toward paying off Putin's retainers.

Looks like Russia wants to fight the world because many Western countries are announcing that they are supplying weaponry to Ukraine, and, other than the usual suspects like China and Iran, most of the globe is opposed to Russia’s transgression.

One news site showed this Russian soldier saying he thought he was going in as a peace keeper.

Putin really blew it on this.

Russian army unleashed? I wonder what their motivation would be? It's not like when Germany invaded and the whole country took up arms (like what's happening in the Ukraine right now) so I don't think Russian soldiers would be highly motivated; OTOH, the Ukrainians sure are.

In WW2 80% of Russian soldiers never returned home.

Exactly. Why would the EU want to incorporate a war zone? That doesn’t make any sense unless the desired outcome is a wider war.

Wonder if our woke schools teach anything about WWI or WWII these days? It’s good for kids to understand the origins and costs of wars. Just saying.

If Iran, China, and North Korea get involve, it will stretch those nations.
