I cannot remember exactly where I saw this, but apparently this operation has been planned for years. Russia rearranged its finances to minimize the impact of sanctions.
There has to be a logical reason for the invasion, it’s not just an off-the-cuff affair. Could it have been the reported bioweapons development in Ukraine? Could it have been Ukrainian acceptance into NATO and the EU?
The Russians didn’t do this just for fun. That’s not defending what is happening, just asking for an explanation.
