I'm assuming that water is involved which gets turned to steam to drive turbines. If it's a closed system, where are the cooling towers in picture? Iceland is doing this now because of heat near the surface. Still, they need to cool the water somehow:
It doesn't help cars that much because battery technology hasn't caught up yet.
