During an appearance on FOX News Wednesday, NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner Richard Childress pledged to send 1 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine to assist in the country's defense against the invading Russian military.
Childress, speaking on FOX & Friends, said he was moved by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's spirit to defend his country.
"I heard Zelenskyy say he didn't want out, he needed ammunition," Childress said.
The NASCAR legend said he called Fred Wagenhals, the CEO of AMMO Inc., about how they could make it happen. Childress told co-host Brian Kilmeade that Wagenhals immediately offered to begin production on ammunition for Ukrainian fighters.

Great, let’s make our ammo shortages worse. No one cared about Georgia or Ukraine. Now, all of a sudden, you would think Ukraine was a US colony in Eastern Europe.
This whole thing is a diversion from the evil communists that are running America!
Ukraine uses AK’s, so that simplifies the supply chain issue. Just buy 1M rounds of Wolf brand 7.62x39 from Russia and politely ax them to ship it down. Sounds like a lot but actually it would probably fit in a couple or three truckloads.
So, we can simply buy pallet loads of ammo and ship it overseas?

How’s that even work? UPS? FEDEX? Would it take a private civilian flight(s) which would have to fly into a war zone. This whole incursion has a particular smell about it.

“As far as the logistics of getting the ammo to the front lines, it’s not as easy as boxing it up and putting in on a plane.
“We’re working with some government agencies, but to get it there quickly, we’re going to work through a private company that will be working to get it in there,” Childress said.
