Seriously, does that really sound like something Trump would say? Doubtful.

Ya I guess that east of the Dnieper is favorable towards Russia and West of that river is favorable towards Europe.

I heard that it is pretty run down over there.

Generally speaking, yes. Of course, there's pro-Ukrainian sentiments in the east and pro-Russian in the west.

One thing the Western media gets wrong, as we howl for blood behind the safety of our keyboards is that by and large, these people don't really hate each other. Russian pop acts play sold-out shows in Kiev and Ukrainian pop acts play sold out shows in Moscow. This is why we're seeing footage of Russian military firing warning shots above the heads of protestors. They're fighting their cousins.

It would be as if we went to war against Canada. Most in the military would not want to just start shooting Canadians. These are people that we could drink a beer and talk sports with.

I'd say 90% of Ukraine just wants to be able to go to work in the morning, earn a decent wage, and buy consumer goods. They don't really care who sits in a palace in Kiev as long as these simple needs are met.

Seriously, are you still reacting to the headline? Just one itty bitty paragraph, and you won’t read it?

I remember Nikita Kruschev and JFK too, as a kid, and the face-off we had in Cuba.

I hope you’re right, and wacko Pooty-Poot doesn’t launch some of his 6,000+ ICBMs against us and Europe. We and Europe would have to launch against him, and the world would come to an end, as we know it.

I was a kid in the 50s and began growing-up in the 60s, and well remember “Duck and Cover” and the Nike Missile Bases near our town, in Arlington Hts, IL. If wacko Pooty-Poot launch some of his 6,000+ missiles, we and Europe would retaliate, and it’d be a very different world, if a world at all. Supplying Ukraine and staying directly out of this, is paramount.

Nike missiles.
Yeah my Dad was a field engineer for the Bell System. He worked on the Nike installations in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I remember one summer night he got a phone call and had to go solve some problem on site and he took me along (I was about 10 yrs old). He got stuck in the mud and they had to tow our car out LOL.

I suggest you watch Winter On Fire on Netflix about the 2013 revolution in Kiev. It’s not quite so simple.

Just out of curiosity, to test your theory, Jews and Arabs are cousins. Our languages, customs and thinking are very similar. So why have we been killing each other for the past century on a regular basis?

Sometimes cousins do get lethal. Canada and the US did in 1812. North and South states went at it pretty bad in 1861, as did the Missouri Bushwhackers, which included Frank and Jesse James and their cousins the Youngers, and Kansas Jayhawkers, among whom was John Brown. There is no known kinship between the Hatfields and the McCoys, however. But they still went at it for about forty years.

It would have been better to have kept to our word.

Which was what?

Maybe Russia should have kept its word when it convinced the Ukraine to divest itself of nukes in exchange for Russia not going to war with them.

So what side are you REALLY on?

Fair enough. I suppose I could shoot Antifa scumbags and still get a good night's rest even though they look just like I do (minus the tats, purple hair, and piercings).

It is this kind of irresponsible “joke” that makes me look to DeSantis & away from Trump. Jokes are supposed to be funny but this is not.

As much as I admire what Trump did for this country as President, his mouth makes me want to vomit. Surely there are others that can lead this country just as well without being a jackass.

Just a joke?

My problem is that the women I live with will hear it and scream. Not everyone is as sarcastic as your average FreePer. There are too many people who think Armageddon will happen tomorrow so no need to fan the flames of fear. I liked it better when DJT said that Putin and him were friends.

Those tanks were probably already abandoned (out of fuel?). So, ya’ hit ‘em with an RPG, see if that draws return fire, if not, it’s clear. (And I’d be smilin’ too.)

Otherwise, you hope you live long enough to get a message to the guys with a Javelin or similar.

Does anyone have a count of shoulder launch anti-tank weapons sent to Ukraine in 2022, including expected deliveries this week?

I thought it was funny. I still think it’s funny. All in favor say *nyuk nyuk*. All who think Trump was being a jack-ass say “Professor Hackenbush!” in the same tone as Margaret Dumont.

Thank you for keeping the spirit of this site at the forefront. We have seen a lot pass through here.

I was guilty of responding to the title before reading the title. Trump isn't off track here, he was just being jocular like the best of us. ;-D

The US and NATO agreed in 1991 not to expand NATO into those nations that broke away from the Soviet Union. That was to give Russia a buffer zone around their nation. Please know your history before being nasty to others who know what is actually going on.

I am on the side of fairness and truth, certainly one who understands that escalating to a nuclear war would be a mistake.

Furthermore, I fully understand that our current President and the entire White House staff are buffoons who haven't done anything right since they have been in office. Their bumbling foolery is apt to lead us into something that would lead the entire world that would make the withdrawal from Afghanistan look like a smoothly successful operation.

Knowing what you should know from recent events, how could you be so stupid as to ask "which side are you on"?

Go ahead, side with the current administration. Be an idiot.

To add more fuel to the fire, you of all people should know the the news media is simply the propaganda ministry of the Democratic Party. For how many years have you watched them outright lie or suppress the truth? Now, here you go, assuming they have told you what is truly going on in Ukraine or what caused the fracas to begin with. Don't you think it is prudent to use caution when gaining an understanding from our media?

Wake up!!!

In 1994, the US, UK and Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum, guaranteeing the Ukraine's security in return for their giving up their weapons..........

Apparently your vast knowledge of history is selective since you clearly are supporting a madman who is bombing the hell out a sovereign country.

Now go back to sleep
