As far as Im concerned this guy committed a racial hate crime so he better do some time. Of course he did. But that federal crime-enhancement law was never intended to be used on blacks. "Only whites can commit hate crimes."

This is still going on? It was a couple of hours ago when it started. Bad theater takes a long time.

What are they supposed to do?
Everyone is legally entitled to a defense, and if a lawyer takes a case he’s ethically and professionally bound to do the best he can for the client.
You can say that you don’t think a lawyer should accept a particular case, but that’s a whole other can of problems.

Poor schmuck smollet, working hard at playing the victim card with his propaganda supporting family.

“It was a couple of hours ago when it started.”
That’s when I started watching this excruciating spectacle. Defense character witnesses, letters of support from the NAACP, BLM and Rainbow Push Coalition, (God I miss Limbaugh’s analysis), and the conga line of family members.

Celebrities are worshipped today sort of like false gods back in Biblical times. Not only in Hollywood but in D.C. They’re not “regular” people like us. On top of that, blacks are considered a protected class by them even though they commit most of the country’s crimes. And homo sex is considered the
“new morality”, more worthy of adulation by the elite celebrity class than hetero relationships. Everything is turned on its head, like in the days of Sodom.

I’m actually feeling sorry for the judge. Imagine having to listen to this sort of crap every single day.

We haven’t had a “justice system” in 50+ years.
We have a badly corrupted “legal system”.

That was the idealism of yesterday. Despite being hard to accept, justice in the US is now arbitrary and corrupt.

Tina Glandian, one of Smollett’s attorneys, argued the court made 13 critical errors and constitutional violations, including wrongfully dismissing jurors based on their race and sexuality and depriving the actor of his right to a fair trial by limiting the number of spectators allowed in the courtroom. She said Smollett’s charges should’ve never been brought because the court erred in their decision to appoint a special prosecutor, arguing they never had the authority to do so.So file an appeal, b*tch!

I hope it costs him LOTS of $$$$
That’s prolly the best outcome. Having him be sentenced to any period of time being the designated soap-dropper really isn’t something he’d find disagreeable.

I AGREE but what I disagree with is the news coverage of what these lawyers say! It is treated as if there is truth in it and my statement is that these lawyers have the RIGHT to push their case to the limits of legal ethics! What I want is for this facet to be known, that defense lawyers have no obligation for the truth!

What punishment would be imposed on the attackers had they actually existed and had been “This is MAGA country” white guys? That would seem fair.

I have no faith in the justice system. As a dark skinned human, he will suffer virtually no consequences for his crime.
