The bill states that if the office of the Attorney General determines that a nonprofit has engaged or incited one of these acts, it would be required to notify the Franchise Tax Board, which would then revoke their California tax-exempt status.

The Center Square) – Nonprofit organizations that participated or aided in the Jan. 6, 2020 insurrection of the U.S. Capitol or support future attempts to overthrow a democratically-elected government would lose their California tax-exempt status under the full text of a first-in-the- nation bill introduced by a state lawmaker on Thursday.

The “No Tax Exemption for Insurrection Act,” introduced by Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, would allow a nonprofit organization’s tax-exempt status to be revoked if the state’s Attorney General determines the organization has “actively engaged in, or incited the active engagement in, acts or conspiracies defined as criminal under specified federal law.”

I would say that the Democrats should be careful of what they wish for because a Republican AG could whack then later with this same thing. But then this is California and it is very unlikely that there will ever be a Republican AG again.

Political persecution enshrined in law?

This crap isn’t going to stop until we, The People, stop it. But, sadly, I am not at all certain that the US population still has the cojones for the fight that will be required.

This is how America dies.

There are probably a lot of organizations that supported January 6th. Before it happened, I personally heard it billed as a support for Trump day, although I heard the other currents about the election as well as that being the same day as the election certification, but still, that was not previously billed as a “January 6th attack”

They should not wait. They should start legislation to go after nonprofits and NGOs that supported BLM and antifa.

Criteria are needed to distinguish between this type of economic sanction and the sanctions against Russia, other than we agree with one and disagree with the other.

“actively engaged in, or incited the active engagement in, acts or conspiracies defined as criminal under specified federal law.”

I doubt that any tax-exempt organization encouraged anyone to storm the Capitol, so this probably means that they are going after anyone who questioned the election results. Since the Dems are trying to enable election fraud as a permanent feature of elections, they are trying to shut down any future criticism of their plans.
