At the funeral, the words of the Iranian leader in 2015 were mentioned, according to which Israel will cease to exist for another 25 years, and it was emphasized that the action in Syria is approaching this date.

A few military papers in the past had pretty much concluded that one well placed nuke would take most of Israel out given wind direction etc.
But be assured, if Iran did this, they would be vaporized.
They don’t care. If the Biden/Obama/Kerry regime gives Iran the bomb, Iran will use it against Israel. Iran can’t let this happen.
Biden/Obama/Kerry may include in their negotiation with Iran that the U.S. will defend Iran nukes against Israel. And the U.S. may block Israel from receiving defense technology like Iron Dome missiles and bunker busters.
CORRECTION: Israel can’t let that happen.

The Syrian nuclear reactor, before and after bombing. The construction of the nuclear reactor violated the Non-Proliferation Treaty to which Damascus was a signatory. Olmert instructed the IDF to prepare plans to destroy the reactor.
On the other hand, Damascus had kept the nuclear reactor a secret because its very construction flagrantly violated the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to which Syria was a signatory. This kindled hopes that if the operation was sufficiently “low signature,” with Jerusalem not acknowledging its very occurrence, the Assad regime might forego retaliation to avoid widespread international censure of its underhanded activities.
Olmert thus instructed the IDF to prepare a number of operational plans that would ensure the destruction of the reactor without triggering a wider confrontation. Should worse come to worst and war ensued, the IDF should strive to end the fighting in a swift and conclusive manner that would leave no doubt as to which side was the winner.
