You might not care but joe and jane average who only hear soundbites react poorly to mean old conservatives seemingly stomping around oppressing and terrorizing poor minorities and disenfranchised. Homosexuality is a do and not a who or a what. Elective activity does not make them a minority. The depraved and perverted should not be tolerated, and certainly not allowed to have any say in what is normal.
