China Signals Disinterest in Providing Weapons to Russia for Brutal Ukraine Campaign
US News and World Report ^ | 14 Mar 2022 | y Paul D. Shinkman

...In an opinion piece posted Monday morning criticizing the Biden administration’s move as “too arrogant,” Chinese commentator Hu Xijin nonetheless offered that, “as a major military industrial power, Russia does not need to ask China to provide substantial military assistance for the limited scale war in Ukraine.”

“Moreover, China is not obligated to promise nor to export arms to Russia,” Hu said in a video circulated by the state-sponsored English-language Global Times, for which he was executive editor until December. Though not a direct mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, the news agency is aligned with its views and seen as an outlet for statements Chinese officials cannot make publicly.

This is just drama from the mainstream media and a false issue to distract from the facts on the ground in Ukraine.

Joe Biden talks Ukraine but will and cannot do anything militarily has to use woke tactics like boycotts and cancellation.

No military option for Ukraine.

Just drama to increase personal popularity which falls flat on its face.

Sounds more like a "Mind your own business" statement.

We or any other nation can't tell China what to do.

More lies. Both Russia and China have stated that no talks on military assistance between the countries take place.
I have no idea what sort of assistance it could be because the equipment used by both countries is different enough.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

They do have common equipment.
Notably their artillery systems and aircraft are very compatible.

China uses lots of 122mm and 220mm rocket systems, and 122mm and 152mm guns, all compatible. Some of these have recently begun to be replaced with newer versions, but doubtless China has enormous stocks of ammunition for the Soviet-era weapons.

The Chinese maintain SU-27 and derivative systems in large numbers, they have the same engines, indeed the Russians supply the Chinese with engines for these, and their weapons are also similar. I don’t doubt that air to ground weapons are largely compatible.

And then there are general equipment categories like military trucks, which seem to be running out on the Ukraine front.

According to many Cable reports the major items the Russians need is MREs and cash. Seems they can’t feed or pay their troops.

LOL. You sound like Ben Wallace - the DefSec of Britain who said the Russians are out of food and bombs on the 4th day.

There are thousands of tons of surplus artillery ammo in Russia, enough for years of conflict of such intensity. That’s not counting vast stockpiles currently captured from Ukraine.

As for the aircraft, the Chinese flankers are different enough in avionics for smooth transition, not they are needed in vast quantities, and the Russian inventory is 800 Flankers - three times the Chinese inventory. Why Russia needs aircraft at all?

Who said trucks are running out? Russia made 98,000 heavy trucks in 2021.

You guys are buying the propaganda line which is ridiculous beyond any reasonable limits.

China is in a place to make Russia a satellite state. Should Putin continue this criminal act by invading a sovereign country, he will set his country back to pre-1917. He is no better than the tsar Nicolai and his oligarchy.

I agree. This is just western disinformation to give the appearance of a split between China and Russia.

And first of all, their two weapons systems are totally different. What is China going to give Russia? Rifles in a different caliber? Chinese jets that are wholly incompatible with Russian aviation? This is a joke.

What China is going to “give” Russia is a ready market for their oil, grain, nickel etc. Paid in contracts denominated in Yuan.

Which countries did we legally invade last century?

Maybe providing weapons wasn’t in the 50 partnership contracts signed by Ripussia and China in February.

China won't invade Taiwan, not after seeing how Ukraine is going for Russia. Taiwan is also watching Ukraine, and by the time of an invasion, the island will be covered by drones, drone-launched missiles, MANPADs and ATGMs.

Instead, the CCP will blockade Taiwan. Their land-based missiles far outrange our CVN-launched aviation. We can't get close enough to Taiwan to resupply it.

By contrast, Ukraine borders many nations, it can never be cut off from weapon resupply. Taiwan can be cut off from the world, no weapons or food coming in, no semi-conductors going out.

The Taiwanese billionaires will make a deal and sell their people into CCP slavery. They already are happy to do business all over mainland CCP China.
