Interestingly—since you mentioned the Amish—there’s a community south of Sarasota FL that floods with Amish from PA and OH (they come in buses) during the winter months. They travel around on bikes and make pies for the tourists and swim in the ocean with full suspenders and pants on. I saw it myself 3 weeks ago. Fascinating. . .
But yes, they don’t go around shooting people in Sarasota.
Siesta Key?
The Sarasota Amish vacationers like to cruise around in packs on electric three wheeled bikes… not what you might expect of plain people. It’s not unusual to see whole multi-generational families of 8 to 10 Amish pulling up to a stop sign together when they’re out prowling the streets. They stay together in groups of small houses in certain neighborhoods. Nice folks!
