Gets worse - those EVs require computer chips and *those* are now in shorter supply. Once the current inventory of EVs and their parts sells through, they’re going to be in the same constraints as gas cars, if not worse.
Apparently it’s not confined to the EVs. Hear lots of ford trucks are being stored in huge lots waiting for chips. Probably others as well. Now, who had the great ‘idear’ of outsourcing this stuff to chi-nuh? Sort of like the YUGE transformers for the power grid. Who has ‘em? Chi-nuh. Here ya go. Let’s shoot ourselves in the foot again.
Microchips are going through the roof if we can even get them. Microchip production requires Industrial Neon gas for laser etching. Almost all of the Industrial Neon is produced by just three countries, China, Russia and ..........Ukraine. All production in Ukraine is centered in Odessa and Mariupol. If the Russians capture those two cities, they will control over 75% of the world’s Neon gas with China controlling almost all the rest. Russia/China will be able to call the shots as to who and for whom, microchips are manufactured. The free world’s largest chip manufacturers only have about 30-60 days worth of Neon currently on hand.
