The cool thing about inflation is that it inflates a bunch of numbers—.gov loves it!
(Meanwhile the average folks can’t eat statistics.)
Especially if you can pick and choose among them. If the real inflation is at 10% but you only measure 7%, you can claim the other 3% in additional activity is growth. It is far harder to lie when money retains it’s value with a 0% inflation rate.
