Soon people around the world will be eating whatever they can find. If you don’t have much of a conscience, you can get rich buying rice, soybean, wheat and other grain futures. Investments in Scandanavian fish canneries is not a bad investment either.

Looks like a sucker bet to me.

The problem will be cashing out your investments. What will you be able to buy with the currency? The people who actually take delivery might be better off.

And if the counterparties to those contracts go bankrupt and cannot deliver or the exchange is "temporarily closed to ensure market stability", your investments will be zeroed out.

The folks who truly don't have much of a conscience have already bought the politicians who will order "equitable distribution of supplies" as they order minions to confiscate stocks of rice, soybean, wheat, and other foods.

The distributors and recipients will be the friends of those same politicians.

What you have in your physical possession right now is all you can count on for an investment.
