HARTFORD, Conn. -- Drivers in Connecticut are getting some relief at the pump as a temporary suspension of the state's gas tax took effect Friday.
In Connecticut, the average gas tax is about 25 cents per gallon, but drivers will not have to pay it for the next three months, CBS2's Natalie Duddridge reported.
"Couple weeks ago I pay for this car like $55. Now I'm paying $75 for the gas," said Greenwich resident Carlos Sierra, who estimates he'll save about $7 a week.

And on July 1st when it kicks back in with the likely ‘putin rise’ in prices folks won’t be happy. The stoopid is getting painful.
Governor up for re-election Dem.
Twice yearly, I drive through CT and NY and gas-up in NH.
If they would label the gasoline tax removal as “undoing the Biden price hike”, I might buy into the savings.
The gasoline tax should be removed nationwide (by each state, of course), and labeled as ‘helping against the Biden inflation’.
“Couple weeks ago I pay for this car like $55. Now I’m paying $75 for the gas,”
Did you vote for Biden señor?
BFD.
These Rats are just whistling past the graveyard.
In Massachusetts the legislature rejected the idea, and didn't even allow a voice vote.
So, CT, and whatever States people come to CT from to buy gas, lose money that would have gone to roads?
$2.00 increase minus $0.25 decrease. Symbolism over substance. And they’ll just raise other taxes to make up for it.
Hahahaha, let’s suspend the gas tax now, then schedule it to come back online during peak-season.
“..Twice yearly, I drive through CT and NY and gas-up in NH...”
Yep. We do the same.
We don’t purchase anything in passing thru CT, MA, NY.
If we could return to our prior energy polices they could raise the tax by a dollar per gallon and people would still be paying less.
They are killing their revenue and accomplishing nothing.
Yes and the gas stations are getting screwed because they still have to pay the 25 cent tax even though they are not collecting it.
I do believe he is a registered GOP voter.
For all of three months!
Meanwhile CT’s Dem guv just bought off the unions by giving massive bonuses to tens of thousands of already overpaid state bureaucrats who largely spent the “pandemic” at home doing squat:
I don’t want anything labeled as having an “Operation Warp Speed approach”.
Meanwhile, yikes—look what they are trying to impose on CT’s neighbors in NY:
