Putin tried to conquer Kyiv and install a pro-Kremlin set of Quislings and turn the remainder of Ukraine into Belarus-south, while annexing eastern Ukraine.
Zelinsky is the president of Ukraine. And asking of NATO aid doesn't make him any less legitimate than Churchill asking for aid.
