Russia's failure to take down Kyiv was a defeat for the ages
AP NEWS ^ | 06-APR-2022 | ROBERT BURNS

Kyiv was a Russian defeat for the ages. The fight started poorly for the invaders and went downhill from there.

When President Vladimir Putin launched his war on Feb. 24 after months of buildup on Ukraine’s borders, he sent hundreds of helicopter-borne commandos — the best of the best of Russia’s “spetsnaz” special forces soldiers — to assault and seize a lightly defended airfield on Kyiv’s doorstep.

Other Russian forces struck elsewhere across Ukraine, including toward the eastern city of Kharkiv as well as in the contested Donbas region and along the Black Sea coast. But as the seat of national power, Kyiv was the main prize. Thus the thrust by elite airborne forces in the war’s opening hours.

I’m gonna say it...

Have you considered that the move toward this city was for other reasons?

Disclaimer: I’m not for any of the dictators, but for citizens who are getting screwed by this conflict

Here is a bitter pill for you to take for all the BS you post on here. Travis McGhee posted this and it’s confirmation of what I told you before and this is the Bucha Incident which somewhat shocks me:

I didn't know the war was over.

The media has been schizophrenic on that topic, one day Putin is retreating, the next day is an appeal for weapons for Zelenskyy.

Add this to the big lie of the Russians defeating the Nazis in WWII. Hitler and the weather did the heavy lifting while the Russians killed their own by shooting them in the back. But the Russians excel at killing/raping women and children. A fine tradition for the Russian military.

Kiev has nothing worth seizing. We'd be lucky if someone would take over Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Camden, Philadelphia, DC, Balitmore, etc...

Modern sideways warfare is to force your enemies to take in refugees. It's what our domestic enemy Democrats are doing with illegal alien invaders in this country.

If Putin’s objective was to show the world how ineffective and incompetent Russia’s military has become, then he has achieved that objective.

Taking control of a middle eastern country is simple... The American’s proved that in Iraq and Afghanistan, Russia proved that in Syria. Taking on a modern, well armed and well trained military is a different kettle of fish. Russia’s failures in the Ukraine has proven that in spades.

Modern warfare isn’t as easy as it looks on paper.

AP = All Propaganda

It’s amazing how the current Russia-Ukraine “reporting” sounds so much like the Trump-Russia reporting from 2015-2020.

It’s disappointing to see so many people posting the AP, NYT, etc., propaganda on FR without questioning the globalist origin of the propaganda.

I wonder how many who believe “Ukraine all good; Russia all bad” did not vote for Trump supporters in the 2018 midterms?

War isn’t over, it may just be getting started. But we have learned some important things about how Russians fight, the quality of their army. We’ve learned that they can do a lot of damage but they can be beaten.

What’s left of these units will refit and join the fight in the southeast. This part of the war is tougher. Russian supply lines are shorter. And from Putin’s point of view, this part of the war he dare not lose. If he can come out of this with a land bridge to Crimea, he can declare victory. This may not be far away; when Mariupol falls he could harden his lines and call it good. NATO could force Kiev to stand down at that point. I hope not, but I don’t fully trust anyone, even Ukraine’s apparent allies.

It is about the exaggerations coming from the press concerning this war. Confirmation of things I heard being done from my neck of the woods.

At least they didn’t bomb Kiev till it was a hole in the ground like NATO would have done. So in that sense Putin is slightly less evil than neocons.

Combat eats huge amounts of ordnance. The javelins and stingers are one time weapons, and have probably nearly all been used up. Resupply is critical to continued resistance.

Here is a bitter pill for you to take for all the BS you post on her

Your shitty little twitter thread is itself already proven BS. It claims that all the civilians were killed by shelling. But we already have footage from a Ukrainian drone of the fellow on the bike being blasted by Russian armor. He was not shelled. He was gunned down. Furthermore, a large number of the bodies have their hands tied and, contrary to the claims of your twitter troll account, they DO have bullet wounds. Getting hit by a shell does not tie you up and then toss you into a mass grave either.

Your "The Ukrainians killed everybody by shelling them" was tried already by one of the other Putinist trolls on this website. The argument did not work. Better to revert to "all photos are fake CGI and/or using crisis actors." That's the best argument you got.

Exactly. They’ve burned a lot of tanks but there’s a lot more where they came from.

What an out and out revisionist buffoon you people have become, even accusing the US of typical Russian tactics, without blushing or shame.

So much for being the Pro-American crowd.

“Add this to the big lie of the Russians defeating the Nazis in WWII”

it’s also been definitely proved that MASSIVE amounts of materials, supplies, arms and equipment that the U.S. shipped to the soviet union was INSTRUMENTAL in preventing the complete collapse of the soviet union and enabled them to go on the offensive ...
