U.S. employers say it's a hard time to find and keep talent. Workers are decamping at near-record rates, while millions of open jobs go unfilled. One reason for this labor crunch that has largely flown beneath the radar: Immigration to the U.S. is plummeting, a shift with potentially enormous long-term implications for the job market.
In the middle of the last decade, the U.S. was adding about 1 million immigrants a year. But those numbers, which slowed down during the Trump administration, hit a brick wall when COVID-19 erupted in 2020.

I grew up in the 1960s and the country got along fine without massive immigration.
I always seem to find the stores open and staffed during typical business hours.
In my area, restaurant seating capacity is the limiting factor.
Immigrant shortage? Instead of massive immigration, maybe we should encourage “Heritage Americans” to start having families.

Our labor problem is that our “safety net” is too generous and there is no incentive to work for too many.
That is also why we are flooded with illegals. They are not coming for the American dream. They are coming for the American dollar they will receive for contributing nothing.
Legal immigration to the US is plummeting while illegal immigration is skyrocketing. Why go to the time and trouble of coming here legally when it is so most much easier to come here illegally? Plus, if you come here illegally, you don’t have to pay taxes.
If the Democrats had not overseen the murder (ala abortions) of over 60 million babies since Roe vs. Wade, there would be no shortage of workers or consumers in America.
Currently, there is no shortage of immigrants in the U. S. A.
CBS is only talking about legal immigrants. On behalf of the Democrat party, they are ignoring the illegal immigrants. How convenient of the fake news organizations.
Any nation that fails to protect its borders cannot sustain itself. The state of affairs in America is proving this everyday.
Time to assimilate them like NK.
