I have no direct information about this incident.
My uninformed speculation is influenced by many years teaching teenagers in the Christian School. We must keep reminding the kids that copying things in movies can get you killed. The firearm lies told by movies and TV will get you killed.
One of those lies is magical body armor!
Another is the “magical trigger of death”. If you are a good guy you only need to point and fire and all the bad guys cease instantly!
Another is the “shoulder wound”. If you, good guy, get shot, then you only need to break into a pharmacy and stuff some gauze in the wound, a little tape and you are back in the fight.
Well not really. Uncle Sam didn’t give me ownership. He owned me and loaned me the rifle. But it’s a good point. Glad I didn’t get drafted at 15. I couldn’t drive worth a darn. :)
