An ensuing probe revealed that Broad and another boy, Joshua Vining, 17, were taking turns “shooting each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor,” the Belleview Police Department said in a statement.
A third teen, Colton Whitler, was present at the time of the tragedy and allegedly gave officers a false account of what took place, authorities said.
“Vining shot at Broad while he was wearing the vest and he was struck,” the statement stated.
Vining and Whitler were arrested in connection with Broad’s death Thursday and will be charged as adults, cops said.

True, and yet I am incredibly curious about the ballistics report. What was he shot with and what type/brand of armor. Either the shooter missed the armor or it’s a poor advertisement for one bullet proof vest company.
Every five or six years, a new version of Russian Roulette is created. This was dumb and dangerous, but this is also a reminder that even this protected generation of Boys needs a little risk taking once in a while.

There was a gal a few years ago that shot her boyfriend through a thick book Sadly for him it was a hollow point bullet that shredded the book and killed him with all the sharpnal from the full metal jacket.
