When the food inflation/shortage emergency overtakes the gas price emergency, what will be the whack a mole response to get more corn on the market?

Around here, one ear of fresh corn is up to nearly a dollar already.

Let’s not forget that the Ukraine won’t be producing much grain. And, grain is a very much fungible commodity.
We need to drill baby drill and plant baby plant. Reinstall Trump policies and eliminate Biden’s - now!

Well It's too late to plant more grain for the 2022 season in much of North America. It's not like oil and gas where it's possible to drill wells any time of year, except for Alaska. You have to plant corn so that it is ready to harvest before winter or other weather could destroy the crops. And due to supply chain malfunctions, lots of inputs for agriculture are not available. Even if a farmer could still plant more grain, actually getting the seed, tractor spare parts especially tires, fuel, etc. is problematic.
