And?
GEEZE let’s see would I rather have our country invaded and CHANGED FOREVER or go without tomatoes and lettuce to close the damn border!! It’s a no brainer!!!
Time to double down! I would tell Biden and Mexico nothing comes through without inspections until they secure the border.!
Agree - tell Biden and Mexico. You secure the border first, then, once secure then you will return to normal inspections and not a minute before. If it takes shortages, so be it. Better to fight this battle now, instead of letting another 2-5 million invaders in.
Did you read your OP?
This week, Abbott reached agreements with governors of Mexican border states to end heightened inspections and collaborate on border security. On Friday, he announced a similar deal with Tamaulipas, a region of Mexico that shares 200 miles of border with Texas and neighbors Laredo, which processes nearly a quarter of fresh produce crossing the southern border.
Oh, boo hoo.
I’ll be picking my own lettuce in 2-3 weeks. I can manage without Mexican produce.
Should be called the democrat hill.
So BIASED.
On the plus side, it’s one less RINO that has to have a mirror stuck under his nose to see if it fogs. Maybe he can work out a deal to fast track some produce on the half-full busses on their way to DC.
Eh… untethered immigration is a threat
Texans are either going to be invaded or share the wealth
Fresh fruit or not.
be careful...
you might jinx yourself and everything may be hell in a hand cart...
E coli cases hit hardest.
Las Vegas police K9 finds $10.5M worth of cocaine in semi-truck with tomatoes (3.25.22)
I would add to that and call it “The Democrat Dunghill.”
OK. I’ll eat canned beans until the Mexicans get the point.
Forget to include fresh cocaine, meth, and fentanyl in that list.
Looks like Abbott is gearing up for a 2024 presidential run as well.
I’ll do without cheap produce. Keep the pressure up, Gov. Abbott!
I have a ton of lettuce seeds. Not worried.
No kidding-it isn’t like they can’t take the trucks to a state where the governor isn’t insisting on inspecting for contraband-maybe try blue New Mexico-or Cali would be even better-I can do without Mexican avocados until the border is secure...
We are in the growing season here in Texas anyway-nearly all the fresh veggies in our local organic grocery are already grown and harvested here-from brussels sprouts to tomatoes from the Winter garden area in S Texas-most of the fresh berries, too-if most of that Mexican produce is not coming here, then it must be going to states that are still too cold for most produce-so let the trucks go to Cali or NM-closer to their market anyway-I’m being mean and I don’t care...
