A fight over oil & gas in the arctic will be the next point of contention with Russia, I’m guessing that’s why Sweden and Finland are jumping aboard NATO. They want their piece of those energy reserves, and without NATO backing for their claims they would lose out. Cheap oil & gas is vital to the world economy, and we aren’t about to let Russia control the bulk of it. That might have been partially the reason for the current Ukraine war, since The Donbas region was found to posses untapped reserves itself. And that’s not counting what’s under the Black Sea, which Russia will claim if they retain control over the formerly Ukrainian coastline there. Just another war for resource control only this time not in the Mideast.
