Still you have a good point. Guadalcanal had the only airfield east of Rabaul, and air power made the difference up and down the entire chain.

We dealt with Rabaul by by passing it and leaving it to die on the vine. Maybe a similar strategy would work on the Chinese.

“China is not imperialistic.” They are an ethnostate.”

Yeah, that’s why they are rapidly colonizing Africa and are making great strides in Latin America.

“They are an ethnostate.”

Just like another state in the 1930s and first half of the 1950s, in Europe.

The Han in China are akin to the “Aryan” in Germany, and see themselves as “pure” Chinese, and they intend to reign supreme. The Han do not see the Manchu as being truly Chinese, and historically the Han have blamed the Manchu for many of the problems that beset China.

“This is the third time in two days you’re pimping for the Chinks. Where are you from?”

His allegiance is to Russia. If he speaks favorably of China, it’s because China has — at least for now — pretty much aligned with Russia.

I think his most visceral allegiance is anything that is anti-West in general, and anti-US in particular.

Well, its either that or live with the consequences of allowing another country to position its resources to threaten you. Some things you gotta do in the interest of self preservation.

You mean like Biden having to get distracted away from little girls by a handler dressed up like the Easter Bunny waiving its hands? Like that? THAT America died a long time ago. A third of America is ESL now....

Sad to see it handed away so easily.

And to the country we helped against the Japs. Some thanks.

“ China is not imperialistic.”

Of course not. China only attacks and occupies lands and waters of neighboring countries for the good of those countries.

China corrupted some government officials, to sign over their Nation’s interests, for their own personal profit.

That’s what China does. They are the single greatest force in the world, for corrupting public officials.

Chinese fishing vessels are probably ravaging their fish stocks already.

And the problem is? Solomon Islands are free to choose their alliances.

I though your position was that everything in the Daily Mail should be disregarded as propaganda? Or does that just apply to news items about Russia?

If China takes over Australia, they won’t have to change the Covid policy there much to match their own.

Sure, they are, and every such choice will have repercussions for them.

“China is not imperialistic.”

Not global imperialists, no, but certainly regional hegemonists, and their aspiration is over a very large region of the world.

“What sort of repercussions?”

Well, for one, every alliance you choose to make is going to effect your relations with every other power in the world that has an interest in that area. And yes, if war happens, your alliances can make you a target rather than offer you the protection you were hoping for.
