About 1.42 million Americans were collecting traditional unemployment benefits in the week of April 9, the fewest since February 21, 1970.

So how many are collecting non-traditional unemployment benefits?

. . . traditional unemployment benefits . . .. You beat me to it, Steven Scharf. “Traditional unemployment” has bothersome strings attached, like you have to at least pretend you are looking for a job. But, there are lots of other scams available that require almost nothing. You have a headache, or your back hurts when you get out of bed in the morning? SSI’s a great option. Got kids? Claim they have learning disabilities for a couple of hundred extra in the pocket each month. ETC.
