Does that make it more or less a hell hole?
Insanity. and theft of taxpayer funds
This really gets me going. A half billion in taxpayer money and what does it do. It will still cost several hundred for a Tennessean to attend a game. This is basically taxpayer funding of a private entertainment entity, in this case a pro football team. The Titans can now afford to pay their players and owners even more. The rich keep getting richer while your 60k a year Tennessean can’t afford to go to a game.
Nashville politicians say they will pay it off with the taxes brought in from all the people that will attend the new events at the new stadium. Those figures are way above my head to figure out but I won’t doubt if being Tennessee has like an 8% tax on goods etc. and I wouldn’t doubt if Nashville tacks on a % or 2.
Thats what you get when you have owners of a professional team.
Green Bay hasnt got that problem.
Anybody can p*ss and moan all they want, but the Green Bay Packers cant be bought out by one person.
This is the Tennessee I know:
One friend murdered when I was 12.
A mother of a girl my kid plays with stabbed 17 times.
My plumber was shot in the neck in a robbery and cannot speak correctly anymore.
The neighbor on the other side of the block killed by 5 shots (I heard it; it was a gang hit).
A man who lived in the apartment across from my girlfriend’s place shot over ecstasy (we heard that one).
A coworker’s car was riddled with bullets as she drove down the interstate.
And these were people I knew, not just news stories. You can guess the city.
There are hints that the Denver Donkeys are going to pull the “new stadium or we leave town” card.
that was the end for us.
The Stoopid ... it’s spreading
Sounds like Memphis. I consider that East Arkansaw, not Tennessee.
No, it’s Mississippi. The largest city in Mississippi. Kinda like people from Cincinnati say they are from the largest city in Kentucky.
Threats of moving teams, and actual moves die to allegedly old stadiums, is an old manuver, gong back at least to Walter O’Malley moving the Dodgers to LA over 60 years ago.
Many cities have given in to the threats of teams leaving, and some have not. We are always told that stadiums are engines of economic development. Some cities have had better luck than others. We are told you need major League sports to be a true major League cosmopolitan city. We are told many things, but seldom the true cost to taxpayers.
No more subsidies for pro-sports. Pro-sports is infested with leftists. And why does anyone’s form of amusement deserve taxpayer support? Need amusement? Turn your TV on, take a walk, or read a book.
If you can afford to live/work in the safe neighborhoods, be my guest.

The Nashville graphic looks like any major Metro Area you can type in:
The area I fled six years ago:

Are you seeing crime rates, anywhere, going DOWN?
No - as a Tennessee taxpayer I oppose this deal.
Nashville hosts the Music City Bowl....it’s been well attended in recent years.
A reason NOT to move to Tennessee.
I can’t think of another team that got so much mileage out of finishing second in a Super Bowl.
Yes, I know. I’ve been to several; my college team played in one. The MCB is very, very small potatoes compared to a Super Bowl.
