Most Russian weaponry tends to kill more Russians than anyone else. I’m not worried about this missile but the crews handling it should be.

My bet is that it simply doesn’t exist.

My bet is that the Russians occasionally develop some cool stuff. It just never gets into production because the money for the cool stuff gets squandered on palaces and superyachts.
So maybe they made a neat missile. Great. Now make ten more.
I’m waiting just like I’m waiting to see 3,000 T-14 tanks.

Obviously the Red Army needs a division of Ukrainian tractor drivers.

The Su-57 fighter is a perfect example of the Russians developing something pretty cool and innovative. And it’s also emblematic of the problems the Russians have with making stuff that requires very fine standards of quality in production.
The thrust vectoring was a key reason for the Su-57 but because the Russians could never get it to work they installed plain old engines and basically ended up with a stealthy-ish MiG-29.
And that seems to be their pattern. They have some of the undeniably best design engineers in the world but the designs never make it past the cloud of stupidity that dominates their upper ranks, their political class, and then the Neanderthals who get charged with using and maintaining the stuff destroy it because their favored tool when working on a fine watch is a sledge hammer.
I’m frustrated for them writing this.
Russia is to me the epitome of squandered potential.

Russia has successfully tested a new intercontinental ballistic missile that is capable of launching nuclear warheads anywhere across the globe, but the Pentagon has said it is not a threat to the United States or its allies. Notice that the Pentagon said it. No human would go on record and say an intercontinental ballistic missile that is capable of launching multiple nuclear warheads anywhere across the globe in not a threat.

Until it goes into combat against +30 years old western aircrafts...

What I mean is as-designed the Su-57 is a remarkable platform and a competitor for the F-22.
As-executed it’s a flying target for an F-4 Phantom.
