The really infuriating part of what Cuomo AND Albany did...
In mid-March the Trump admin had CMS change its regs to allow nursing homes the ability to refuse to take back infected patients if the situation warranted.
In mid-May Cuomo ordered them sent back anyway.
Our legislature allowed it.
Our nursing homes, with only one exception that I know of, complied.
Here’s a question: When Trump changed federal regs allowing the residential care families that need to refuse the ability to do so, why did those facilities do what Cuomo ordered?
Scuttlebutt is that Albany made the families an offer they couldn’t refuse, using regulatory threats and/or taxpayer-funded bribes.
You’d think this would be ripe for Congressional investigation. Hey, Rand Paul, cat got your tongue?
But nothing, bupkis.
Meanwhile, snuck into the state’s new budget that year was a provision ensuring facilities had both criminal and civil CoupFlu liability protection.
Again, not a peep out of Congress.
Our elderly are just grist for Deep State’s medical and social sevice sector mills.
...allowing the residential care FACILITIES that needed to refuse the ability to do so...

Apparently the same protection from litigation was created in the UK. Who was pulling the strings?
