The US authorities are considering the possibility of transferring assets of the Bank of Russia frozen in the United States to Ukraine.

I hope Putin pays dearly for his invasion of Ukraine, but these assets are not his - they are the Russian peoples, and we will need to deal with the Russian people long after Putin is gone. Imposing Treaty of Versailles-type humiliations on the Russians is short-sighted and likely to cost us in the future.

This is extremely short sighted. Why keep your money in any western monetary system? I even have doubts after what happened in Canada.
