ATLANTA — Atlanta police said a man is dead after he was shot by a police officer inside a Buckhead restaurant.
Atlanta police were called out the scene along Lenox Road around 3 p.m.
Police and witnesses described the incident to Channel 2 investigative reporter Justin Gray as an extended struggle over the police officer’s gun.

I could have sworn the headline said ‘Buckwheat restaurant’.
I was already thinking, Wow, I’m surprised they used that name, not that I’m offended by it. Maybe they had buckwheat pancakes.

Things have been going downhill in that area...fast!
Back in the day it was a tony area, Pharr Rd was known as the golden ghetto, GA governor’s mansion is there. A large shopping center called Lenox was built with upper class stores. Problems started when MARTA bussed people out from the city and I think there is a MARTA train stop there now. White flight hasn’t helped the area either. Good luck though trying to find a parking place in Buckhead anywhere near the main drag Peachtree St.

I sure as heck hope, for Atlanta’s sake, the dead guy is not black. Even though I know the odd are very high that he is or was.
Buckhead is a very wealthy neighborhood...Atlanta is trying to keep them in the loop because of the long tax dollars they collect.
Buckhead’s removal from Atlanta is being voted on.
Hoping like heck they win...Atlanta will be up shit’s creek without Buckhead dollars.

In the past Buckhead was an upscale area. I used to go there all the time. Now no way!
